What a Physiotherapist Actually Needs Before Session Four

By session four, a chronic pain patient's story has usually changed. The pain has moved, or eased on one side and worsened on the other, or a new activity has started aggravating it. You find this out in the first five minutes of the session, verbally, while you're trying to plan what you'll actually do with the time that's left.

A single consult only tells you where things stand today. What you're actually managing is a pattern across weeks, and that pattern is hard to reconstruct from memory at the start of each visit, for you or for the patient.

Symptom changes, captured before the patient walks in

Blooclu's pre-visit screening forms give the patient somewhere to log what's changed before each session, not just before the first one. Pain location, what's improved, what movements are still limiting them, any new activity or flare since last time.

You see that before they're on the table. A session that would have started with five minutes of verbal recap can start with you already knowing what shifted, and spend the time on treatment instead.

Building a picture across the course of care

Chronic musculoskeletal conditions rarely improve in a straight line. A screening form completed before every session gives you a written record of how symptoms actually moved over the course of treatment, not just your recollection of what the patient told you three weeks ago.

This works alongside whatever clinical notes and outcome measures you already use. It captures the information that would otherwise only exist in a hallway conversation before the patient gets up on the table.

Set up your account at blooclu.app/register, or request a demo to see how the screening forms fit into an ongoing course of care.
