BLOOCLU VS HEIDI: What Happens After an AI Scribe Finishes the Note

AI scribe tools have become a normal part of general practice in Australia over the past couple of years. Heidi Health and iScribe are two of the more widely used ones, and what they do is actually useful: a GP talks with a patient, and a clinical note drafts itself in the background, ready to review before the next patient walks in.

Dr. Chandra sees Harold most Monday mornings for a routine review of his hypertension and osteoarthritis. Her scribe tool listens to the consultation and has a note ready in her clinical software before Harold has finished putting his shoes back on. She trusts it for what it's built to do, and it's one less thing she has to type up later that evening.

What it doesn't do is anything outside that room. It has no view of what happened to Harold in the four months since his last visit, no way to know his knee pain got worse for two weeks in July, or that he ran out of one of his medications and went without it for a few days. And once Harold leaves, the note stays in the practice's system. He walks out with whatever he remembers being told, and nothing written in language built for him to reread.

That's the part Blooclu is built around. A few days before Harold's appointment, he completes a custom intake workflow and pre-visit screening form noting what's changed since he was last in, so Dr. Chandra starts the visit already knowing about the knee pain and the missed medication instead of asking and hoping he remembers to mention both.

After the visit, Harold gets a plain-language summary of what was actually decided, written for him rather than for the file. If his daughter helps manage his appointments, Care Circle means she sees the same summary without Harold having to relay it secondhand or Dr. Chandra fielding a separate phone call.

A scribe tool and Blooclu aren't solving the same problem. One handles what's said in the consultation. The other handles what happens before a patient sits down and after they leave, which for a chronic condition is most of where the actual managing takes place.

If you'd like to see what that looks like for your own patients, you can set up your account at blooclu.app/register, or request a demo first if you'd like to see it in action.
